Baskin shop-therapy

The other day a coworker of mine wrote me a funny little story about my recent theft problems. I thought that the story was so pleasant to look at that I have provided a scan of the piece of paper itself.

Also on that note....I have taken the negative money that I received for my stolen artwork and have put myself even more in the negative by purchasing another Leonard Baskin print. I guess it's my version of shop-therapy. Most people would go out and buy a pair of shoes. Not me. I feel the need to buy expensive artwork. So now I have one of his lithographs of Captain Ahab, which matches the other print I have that is also part of his Moby Dick series. I bought it from the Freeman Bull Gallery, which has a beautiful selection of his artwork at fair prices.

In other news I have been chugging along on my picture book project. This process is rather tedious and sometimes lonely. I have been developing this for almost a year now and I'm just starting to get somewhere. Here are some little teaser sketches. Hopefully soon I will have some finished illustrations to share...
